Everybody Has his own vision of valentine’s day out but if you’re out of ideas we got your back!
Here are some plans and places that might just do the trick if you want to take that special someone out and about Scotland.
We tried lots of different things now and then so we thought we will share some of our top activities.
Stay at hotel with fantastic restaurant and spa…
Most common one surely, but we are not talking about any ordinary Holiday Inn or other budget hotels (still these sometimes got their charm too believe us or not).
This time you need to treat yourself and your partner to a luxurious stay and amazing food.
Just make sure to choose a hotel with spa for extra pleasure and comfort.
Even if your not into spa this time it will be worth to get out of your comfort zone and treat yourself and a loved one!
We tried and loved Ardoe House Hotel a “Romantic Mansion House and Spa” located in quiet area outside busy Aberdeen along the River Dee.
Their cosy rooms and mouthwatering, Michelin Star worthy dishes will leave you speechless.
… or go for a wee cottage in the forest perfectly with hot tub
Remote cottages have their own charm regardless of location usually paired with amazing view but just imagine one equipped with hot tub to go along with the view.
You just can’t beat spending a romantic break while soaking in the bubbling hot tub with the breathtaking Scottish landscape around and maybe a glass of wine or two?
You’re spoiled for choice when it comes to cottages with hot tubes. Why not for example get lost in the middle of forest in Cairngorms National Park?
Take a cruise despite the weather
For those of you who like to stay active on valentine’s day why not go for a walk and explore beautiful shoes of Loch Katrine and then hop on a boat to see the same shores and loch from completely different perspective.
This can prove to be a nice and unexpected experience.
What’s so romantic about that you ask? well you can get a cup of hot chocolate and a cosy blanket to keep you warm.
If snuggling on a boat with blanket, hot chocolate and your special one does not sound romantic then we don’t know what does.
Take a trip to quiet, lonely glen with some breathtaking views
Another way to spend active romantic day out would be explore one of the amazing Scottish glens.
These always deliver superior views and great walking routes.
These are ideal to relax and remove yourself from stressfully everyday and just loose yourself in nature alongside of the ones you love.
Most of Scottish glens will reward you with unique atmosphere ideal for couples and romantic days out.
If we’d to recommend one area visit Braes of Balquhidder with Loch Voil and Glen Lyon located in Perthshire.
Take some cute alpacas for a walk with you
Alpacas are cute hairy animals that are gaining popularity around the world recently.
They are used for animal therapy for both children and adults and are just super cute and cuddly.
If you feel like petting an Alpaca for a while there are couple of places in Scotland were you can take these delightful hairy llama lookalikes for a walk.
This will surely prove to be a different way to spend a romantic day.
Just think how many people can say that they walked with cute alpacas on Valentine’s Day surely not too many.
Light Show in Perth
If you never been to one or just love light related events night time why not give Perth Riverside Light Nights a go.
It is on in Perth from 27 Jan to 14 Feb with different themes, with 14th being conveniently themed as Valentine’s Day.
While there you can write your valentine notes and tie them to trees around Riverside Park.
There will be lots to see and do around including Fire Acts which are amazing if you watch one live at night.
Stroll through the romantic gardens and enjoy a glass of something fizzy it does not get better than that 😉
